The semi truck towing team from Quality Towing made a visit to McCarran International Airport. No, they were not heading to an exotic getaway … they had been called out for a job that would require some smart thinking.
An old airplane refueler had been sitting lonely and dusty in an airplane hangar for a long time, with no use or purpose. No longer wanting it to take up space in their hangar, the airport put the old truck up for sale. Seeing the potential for scrap metal, a local Las Vegas scrapyard had purchased the refueler from the airport and needed help from Quality Towing to transport it to the scrapyard.
The semi truck towing team had to head out to the airport, load up the airplane refueler, and transport the huge vehicle to the awaiting scrapyard. But, the job wasn’t going to be as simple as the team hoped. Fortunately, they packed their thinking caps.
The problem arose when the team found that the air brakes on the airplane refueler weren’t budging. At first, the team tried caging the brakes and releasing them manually, but had no luck.
After some quick thinking, the team fed some extra air into the brakes to avoid any depletion and pulled the pin in the back of the brake pad, releasing the brakes of the refueler. Success!
The impressive yet aged refueler was happily winched up onto the flatbed, and the semi trucking towing team transported it to the scrapyard where it would be used for parts and metal.
Our quick-witted team was able to hurdle over the obstacles and complete the job in great time! Well done guys! Maybe next time we really will send you on a getaway… maybe.
