Semi Truck in Ditch Needs All Hands on Deck in Heavy Towing Recovery

Quality Towing’s heavy towing team was called to an incident when a drilling rig truck had rolled into a ditch after narrowly avoiding a collision with a semi-truck in the small town of Hiko, Nevado.. Barely holding on from sliding deeper into the trench, the semi needed immediate help. The heavy towing team dispatched with a powerful army of machinery – a 50 ton rotator, 50 ton wrecker and a 35 ton wrecker.

When the team arrived at the incident, they discovered that the semi-truck had tried to tackle a hilly corner slightly too fast and crossed over the centre line. The south-bound drill rig swerved to avoid impact and ended up rolling into the ditch.

Springing into action, the heavy towing team rigged the 50 ton wrecker to the front axle. This helped to stabilise the semi and stop it falling further into the ditch while the rest of the recovery took place. After additional hooks were attached from the rotator and smaller wrecker, the heavy towing team lifted the semi up onto the shoulder of the road. They then used the 50 ton wrecker to tow the rig to the customer’s shop in Las Vegas.

It was another successful recovery for the heavy towing team! Good work! We hope the driver and passenger involved are recovering well.
